In Memoriam.
Sep. 13th, 2007 11:16 pmGod speed, Clare Oliver. Your message is slowly spreading. I wish you could have been around to see its effect.
You're braver than words can say.

I'm going to honour her by passing on a message.
Tanning - ANY TANNING - is skin damage. Avoid it! UV rays, whether from the sun or a solarium, can give you cancer! Solarias are are usually MUCH WORSE than the sun. The only safe tan, sadly, is a fake one.
The best thing to do is enjoy your natural skin tone. PALE IS BEAUTIFUL TOO!!!

Date: 2007-09-13 03:32 pm (UTC)I also own a parasol, and sometimes I use it. It has butterflies on it. I don't feel so much like Scarlett O'Hara as a very short drag queen when I have it, but even in Athens, GA it's a little...much...for some occasions.

Date: 2007-09-13 03:45 pm (UTC)As soon as it gets sunny I wear hats. Hats, sunglasses and SPF 30 daily moisturiser. It's a lot of fuss but I already had to have one mole removed from my breast, I'm not game on having more funny spots turn up on my body.
I actually find long flowing scarves and sarongs very helpful in keeping the sun off. Then again, I'm not adverse to looking like a hippy. LOL!
