So when Margaret Olley died, she requested that the contents of her house in Sydney were to be transported out into a country location where she grew up and reconstructed exactly as they were in Sydney. There was an article on the 7.30 Report about it on the ABC. There were shots of people lovingly dusting old crockery and bits and pieces before packing them away and taking them elsewhere to continue on in their existence.

And I turned and said to Daniel, "Dude, I hope I get so ridiculously famous and rich that I can leave a buttload of money and people can go through my things to recreate my house in some arbitrary location. Can you imagine it? These art buffs lovingly dusting my vibrators once they get to them?" And I laughed and laughed and laughed.

“I used to think I was the strangest person in the world but then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it's true I'm here, and I'm just as strange as you.”
Frida Kahlo

So many years after you were on this earth, I think of you, dearheart.  I think of how similar we are in some ways, and your honesty and bravery in your art will forever inspire me. You were here on this earth, and you were strange.  I am strange too, and if my strangeness can be anything like yours, I will be truly blessed.

All my love,
Your mad, bisexual, pain-riddled sister in spirit.

No seriously, I about cried at that quote.  It's like, a moment where I felt I wasn't alone.

Hey all. After watching "Vincent and the Doctor", I was savagely inspired to do a painting of our newest incarnation of Gallifrey's favourite rebel, The Doctor. Now, in a way, this painting was a total failure. My aim was to do a piece:

- In one day
- Loosely and quickly
- With feeling and freedom

I did not finish it in one day, rather two days. It's not really loose nor free, except in the background and the jacket and the hair (maybe). Never mind, though, because I think I got a rather intriguing piece out of it. It's different from anything I've done before. Darker, more sombre, and it's funny because it's darker and more sombre than any David Tennant drawing or painting that I've done, and Ten was the more Emo Doctor. Anyway, I decided that while I was painting this piece, I'd take photos of my progress. I thought it might be fun for people to see how a piece develops. So, we begin!

This painting of Paul "Muad'Dib" Atreides? It's starting to look like James McAvoy. Which is making me fall in love with it. SHIT. I wanted to sell this one at Swancon. I mean, I'm still going to. I'll have to scan it at super-high res cause Muad'Dib is getting me a little hot under the panty-line.
