Greedy gannets!

logansrogueI tell you - my brother and his kids, and my other nephew are *unbelievable*.
I cooked a batch of cookies last night. Anzac biscuits. I made about thirty of the bloody things and put them in the biscuit barrel. Mainly out of guilt cause I didn't want to scoff them all. I thought it'd be nice to have home-made cookies around the house for a few days.
Tonight I go to the biscuit barrel to enjoy the fruit of my labours and they're GONE. All the biscuits that were in the barrel - store bought AND the home baked ones! Sure, there's Dad, Paul and David - three grown men that pick from the barrel. Then there's my two nephews with the endless pits for stomachs. So perhaps I shouldn't be so surprised, but I was. I figure they'd eat three square meals and nibble on a couple of biscuits between those meals. But no.
And the irony of it is that my brother Paul is very anal about his health. There are lots of things he won't eat - chocolate, cake, etc. He goes to the gym and everything. And he eats ANZAC cookies?! They're fat, oats, coconut, wheat and sugar.
He eats quite a few of my cookies and then at the end of the day, complains that they were too sweet. The CHEEK of it!
Well, the joke's on them cause I screwed up that batch. I forgot to put the golden syrup in. I remembered this time and I'm going to be careful about where I put them this time.
