I need to get out more.

HAH. No shit! *laughs* Okay, no, it really wasn't that bad. In fact, I felt quite bouncy and upbeat as I left the doctor's office. Professor Moorehead (yes, that is his name and I LOVE him for it) arranged the appointment and it was to go over the results of the nutrition blood test I had.

Thyroids - working beautifully.
Vitamin Bs - Fine.

In fact, all my vitamins are in tip-top shape! Except - Vitamin D and calcium.

So I need to be in the sun more and to eat more cheese, milk, dark green leafy veges. This is like saying to me, "Well, to get better, you need to whack off to pictures of David Tennant as Casanova and eat strawberries dipped in chocolate sauce in the afterglow stage."

So I'm thinking, yeah, I go swimming more. I sit in the garden more and spend time with either Lenny or Melma. I'll be painting out there before long for Swancon projects. I can take my laptop out there and relax and write my mermaid encyclopaedia.

Oh, and I can have food jam packed with cheese and milk, which is like, YES. YES PLEASE. I love me some cheese! The only reason I've been cutting back on cheese is because gluten-free crackers are fucking expensive. And I can't have cheesies like I used to, and trust me, when I ate bread? I had cheesies ALL THE FUCKING TIME. I love me some damn cheese. I blame the ultra-healthy gluten-free dieddiet (hah, typo!) for this. I do, I do. Oh, and my own bad habit of hiding in my darkened bedroom when I need to sleep during the day. But that and my houseboundness due to illness is one of those things I shouldn't blame myself for. I've been coming to terms with a painful chronic illness and it takes time, patience and effort to learn how to deal with your new reality as less mobile.

Which brings me to - mobility scooter. I think having a mobility scooter will get me out into the sun MUCH more. This will be a good thing, I think. Yet ANOTHER point for the mobility scooter.

That said, I do intend to get some more walking into my lifestyle, now that my pain levels have come down a bit due to the BCPs I'm on. Yes.

HOW AWESOME IS THAT!? The Microgynon I'm taking has actually eased off with the hormonal madness and I'm actually having moments where I don't feel much pain at all. I have to stop and think, "Wait... am I feeling pain?" Sometimes, just sometimes, I can even say NO.

Now, this doesn't mean I'm pain-free. And I'm still horrendously unfit, so it's going to take a lot of time and gradual strengthening before I'm back to my old self. But there's just a glimmer of fucking hope that I can have a shadow of my old lifestyle back.

TAKE THAT DR. KARTHIWHATSIT! Only way I'll be pain-free is to go to another plant? Guess WHAT motherfucker? I'M ON A NIGHT FLIGHT TO VENUS. (Note - all the best space songs start with a computerised voice doing a count-down. Just sayin'.)

You too huh? It's one of the songs on my 'really frakkin' loud stuff!' ipod shuffle I have for playing in the car after an annoying day. And up loud.

It's nice to know that sometimes I'm not the only one who suddenly turns 12 when he/she hears a type of last name, ppht.

Here in the US, they fortify milk with vitamin D. Do they do that in Australia? Cheese. Glorious cheese. YUM!

I'm really glad that the new BCPs you're taking are helping with your endo pain levels. It's terrible to be in pain like that all of the time, and anything that helps to ease it is a great thing, in my book.

OOO! Before I forget, new puppeh pics have been posted in my latest entry. He's a cutie, and I can't wait to get back home to see him and Jasper on Friday night :-D

Bonus funny: Professor Moorehead was the doctor that gave me my first vaginal exam. True story! He was also the best.

I think they do. I should go with Mum into the supermarket today to see what's on offer.

Yeah, I'm really happy about it. I skipped a BCP last night by accident, and now I'm paying for it. Took it as soon as I woke up.

I'm guessing this wasn't the same doctor who lectured you about how a scooter would be OMGBADFORYOU?

No. Definitely not. Professor Moorehead didn't seem to have an opinion on the scooter either way, actually. Which was nice.
