Dear Clueless Men...

Dear Clueless Men (I am not addressing all men, just the clueless ones),
I know you mean well sometimes. You know, you come to our defense in certain situations. Others don't care, and these are the most frequent offenders of this most irritating of habits. And I hate it when it's directed at either sex.
You know how some people refer to women as 'females'? Cut that shit out.
For the love of humanity, CUT it OUT. When we commonly refer to anything as female, it's usually either parts of the anatomy (female pelvis, female arm, female brain, female hormones, etc) or a particular sex of animal (female dog, female calf, female antelope, female manatee, female aardvark).
But when you refer to a demographic of the population, or a number of women as 'females', it kind of makes us sound like cattle. It's objectifying. I see it with 'male' sometimes, but I see it with 'female' a LOT more. Really, honestly, I don't want to see it anymore!
What is wrong with the word 'women'? Is it scary in some way? Are you too lazy to use your ring finger to hit the 'W' key? What is it? You know what? Save it. Don't tell me. I don't want to know. The subject pisses me off enough as it is. Just stop fucking doing it.
Yours,
Nancy,
Angry cat-loving, queer feminist.
