Comic artists often have problems representing black women correctly. That's why I'm going research and practice and make sure that I draw Jade properly. (Jade - new black character in Carrie). One comics blogger who happens to be black complained about how they've been drawing that character's hair. It's straight in the front, frizzy in the back. It makes NO sense as she'd have to straighten the front and only the front. And it looks weird, too! *shakes head* Braids would have looked way better there.
