Date: 2006-07-31 02:28 pm (UTC)The way the sunlight gleamed on her scales made the light green come out in them, a pleasing effect that she had not seen before that dreadful illness.
It had been horrible. Her skin had cracked, discoloured and ugly, while her scales had paled, almost as if they had been blenched. Every part of her body had hurt, in a way she had never felt before.
Healing had been long and ardouos, but there had been some pleasant consequences - the new colours in her scales, for example. Even if they would very likely never be as dark as they had been, ever again. It was always better for one's disposition to focus on the slipstream rather than the rip.
Still. She would never let herself get sunburned ever again.

She pulled on the ropes binding her a little harder., the twine scraping the sensitive skin of her inner wrists. She glanced across from her at Logan, who was tied across from her, his head tilted down, chin resting against his chest.
"Logan? Logan!"
Logan's head jerked up. "What, kid?"
"Can you cut through the ropes? It's a tight angle, but...
"Oh, sorry. Forgot" He swung his arms around and cut the ropes at his ankles, stepping forward to do the same for her.
Rogue's eyes narrowed. "Forgot? What do you mean forgot? How long have you been untied?!"
"'Bout ten minutes."
"10 MINUTES!!!!"
"Well, if you're gonna have your uniform unzipped practically to your nipples, you gotta expect staring."
At that moment, about 10 minions ran in, lovingly clutching their guns. As the struck fighting stances, Rogue growled, "You're so dead when we get back to the mansion."
Logan smirked. "With a view like that, it'd be worth it."
