I just realised something today. You know when you're sitting down in one spot, talking to the same person, and drinking alcohol? And you both decide to change rooms at that party, or hunt out some snacks?

You get up and suddenly realise that you're staggering, and you're WAY drunker than you realised you were?

The same principle applies to codeine. When I arrived at the doctor's office, I'd taken codeine just before I left the house to knock some pain on the head. I got to the appointment just fine, I found my way in with no problems and was perfectly coherent at the beginning of the appointment.

By the end I realised I was feeling a little dopey. Just the codeine, I thought. I can handle it.

Just you watch me try to find my way OUT of that building. They had a fire drill during the appointment, so ONE door was closed that wasn't before, the one that lead to the lifts. I was SO freakin' disorientated I had to ask for directions out of the place. I got down to the floor level and had to ask again - and I was five metres away from the exit. I was THAT fucked up on codeine.

Now? My eyes are wonky. Man, I'm so high. LOL. And it's totally pointless talking to a psychologist when you're high.

"Do you have any problems connected with the [insert issue here]?"

"Hmm? Uhm... naaah. I'm fiiiine!" *big dopey grin*

See? Stupid.

Anyway, the doctor said that if my current distraction techniques work (doing art, reading ONTD and playing neopets) then I shouldn't worry myself and stick with them until the surgery.

Why do I have a feeling I'm going to be an internet bum all my life? :(

I find that sometimes exercise can bring out drugs in the body, too. I once had a couple of weeks where I had to take a lot of painkillers for a toothache, then when the pain had been gone for a few days I went back to kung fu and very quickly found myself incredibly high. I don't actually enjoy opiate highs much at all, either.

I hate to think about how much codeine I have in my system. I'm probably thoroughly addicted.

It's sad but true, that the internet is a great distraction. Especially when you need a distraction from something, or if your attention span is zilch.

Don't worry, also might I suggest wwww.battleon.com for a fun online RPG. It helps me squander away many hours.
