Ruby totally stuns me...

She walked up to me holding my fuzzy white christmas polar bear in its splendid little red and green waistcoat. She looks at me, stands next to me with those big, innocent dear blue eyes.

Then she brandishes a plastic silver pistol and points it at the side of teddy's head.

"Me shoot the bear?" she asks.

I have no words.

People without children don't realize what evil little f***s they can be. They are all id with a still-developing moral base. I like to call instances like this "learning moments."

Heh. They can be very evil, but Ruby? Not so often, if at all, which is why I was so surprised that she pulled the gun on the bear. She was just joking around, I'm sure, but I was like, "WTF?!".

Ruby is a little angel, seriously. She is *such* a sweetheart. She'll come up to me, a big happy grin on her face and say, "I love you!" And I'll say, "I love you more!" "No, I love you more!" We have an "I love you more" fight. She is tiny and sweet and the most delicate little darling. I'm probably COMPLETELY biased about her because not only is she a HELLUVA lot like me as a kid, but she and I are best buddies and she's my little niece girl. :)

It's always the quiet, cute ones who pull the wings off flies and fry ants with magnifying glasses. ;-)

I'm sure she's the adorablest thing on the planet (next to mine) which is what makes their incongruous behaviors that much more mystifying. I think they like to mix things up after a time. Just when you think you have them figured out, they throw you a curve and you have to reset everything you thought you knew.
