Doctor Who: Victory of the Daleks
Apr. 18th, 2010 04:37 pm- I really do like the new music now. I've gotten used to it. It revs me UP.
- "AMY!" HAHAHA. It's like the geekiest, dorkiest way he could have said her name, with the geekiest, dorkiest smile following. LOVE IT.
- BWAHAHAHA, Doctor flashin' the V! That is so going to be an icon now!
- I love Amelia's tummy. It's so *cute*.
- Ohhhh, Doctor. Smackin' out a Dalek. You are one fucked-up mamma-jamma. Come here, I give you big titty-hugs.
- "Keep Buggering On" shall also be an icon.
- He's bluffing with a jam tart. I don't know if I can love this crazy bastard more than I already do. DOCTOR. STOP MAKING ME LOVE YOU SO HARD!
- "That *is* deep for a Dalek." HAHAHAHAHAHA!
- He's sticking with the jam tart. When he acts tough with a jam tart, I get very wound up. *fans self* I am so weird.
- "Alright, it's a jammy dodger, but I was promised tea!" ROFLMAO ROTFLMFAO!!!!
- It's become Star Wars with British Dudes. It's totally hilarious! I don't know if that's a good thing or not.
- OH. Real Doctor tears! OH! *sob*
- I'd kind of hoped that Amy's possible crush on the Doctor wouldn't be addressed. Sort of up in the air, unspoken of like in the old series. Oh well.
- Ooh, next week looks good!
ETA: Overall, I'd say the episode was rather weak. Plot-wise, a total mess. More Deus Ex Machinas than you can shake a sonic screwdriver at. It's the little moments that keep me watching, though. The character moments and the throw-away lines. And saving the day with jammy dodgers.
I said to someone else on LJ that the thing I really love about this series is the fact that it harks back to episodes written by Douglas Adams. There was a certain air about those episodes. There was a certain vibe and style that was around in those days, that Douglas Adams beautifully encapsulated with his novels and scripts. It comes through in Eleven so very strongly, it both breaks and mends my heart. I wish Douglas could have been around to both see the good episodes and to write scripts. I miss him so much, and it's so good to see his spirit live on in something new.
Cause Ford Prefect would totally save the day with a jammy dodger.

Date: 2010-04-18 02:45 pm (UTC)I'm SO FUCKING SICK of certain segments of English society and their incessant need to BRAG about winning the war, or treating it like some jolly jape in a a Boy's Own adventure or something. It's not becoming. the stuff with the flag at the end made me want to vomit, honestly, and that's not just the Irish bits talking.
However, the reference to Where Eagles Dare and its 'Broadsword to Danny Boy' call was cool, mostly cos me and my friend Rachel have already appropriated that for ourselves. I of course, am Danny Boy ;)
Mostly this episode gets the following from me: *irritated growl*
