As I was ruling out the zoomy Time-Vortex lines for my Fourth Doctor painting, I realised that the canvas frame is warped. The thing is tight, but slightly twisted.

I don't feel good about selling art on a twisted canvas. That just isn't good business. :( :( :( I'll display it, but I'd feel so bad asking money for it.

It'll probably be worth all the more because of its flaw someday.

just make sure that you always mention in advertising that the frame is slightly twisted. Do not sabotage yourself here - you have still put the work in, many people will be happy to buy it

Gotta agree with Dave here. Make sure that any potential buyers are aware of any 'flaws' and then let them decide for themselves whether they wish to buy it or not.

It does seem an appropriate painting for it. :P

Otherwise I agree with [livejournal.com profile] strangedave advertise that the frame is slightly warped and let people make their own decision.

Edit: heh. I made an amusing typo.

Yeah but I have this threshold where my attachment to the painting outweighs my want of the money. And it's also a point where I'm not asking enough for all the time and effort that I put into the fucking thing. Much better to keep it and stick it on my wall and sell prints on the sly.
