Girls/Women as good at mathematics as Boys/Men.

Sadly, no gender identification can save my mathematical abilities, which are near to nil.

My daughter is pretty good in math. My sister is crazy awesome in math. I had an 80% average in calculus ... but my attendance was at 10% which led to my being eventually kicked out. :P Imagine where I could have been if I'd only attended that stupid 8:30am class.

Actually ... here's the thing. My daughter was teaching herself multiplication in the first grade. Then some asshole told her girls weren't good at math, and for some god forsaken reason, she believed them. And then, for two years, it was a struggle for her to even get her to do math because she had it in her head that she wasn't good at it. *boggles* And now? Hell, back up to an 80% average. But she's suffering because her basic math skills suck shit. She can do basic algebra no problem, but she has problems with her multiplication tables. She has it all ass-backwards now. *flails* I want to find the asshole who told my baby girls weren't good at math and punch them in the nards. >:(

I didn't have anyone telling me I was bad at maths. I just kept consistently failing tests and getting my numbers mixed up.

I hope your little girl gets her maths sorted out. If she's good at algebra, she should get the multiplication sorted out eventually.

Hate Sudoku. Give me a crossword, word search, kris cross, and I'm fine. Give me Sodoku and I run a mile.

I lost it some years back when I read some editorial or something about how girls who are good at math have smaller breasts than girls who are not, because "they have less estrogen". The kicker? Written by a woman. Me? I'm so ridiculous when it comes to math, I tend to get confused when people say it's difficult, I take a 2-based number and mutliply it with 1.5 over and over until I get the corresponding 3-based number (32-->243, for instance) when I'm bored, I do squareroot approximations in my head, and well I'm just generally insane about math and I think I actually had a mathgasm when I learned about spherical trigonometry. Size: European 85C.

Mine, for years, have been a C cup. When I was in my late teens, it was a mere B cup. Now I'm in my 30s, finally they're a D cup.

But all that time? Shit at maths.

More evidence in my evidence pile that there's no corelation between mathskill and estrogen/testosterone. :D
