Not to minimize, but looking at the source, the print ads are a 2007 campaign from Portugal and the source is a site which does not always distinguish between proposals and usage and do not mention where they actually appeared, if at all. Foreign advertising, I've noticed, can exhibit a callous disregard for boundaries even worse than our own, not because the cultures are more liberal but because there's little consequence for doing so. I think a lot of frustrated and sexist art directors wallowing in shock for shock's sake.

OH! Wanted to add in that I remember seeing the safe sex ad in Germany from the link that's provided in the post when I was over there the last time and my reaction was pretty o_0 to that as well. I think I also actually have a picture that I took when we day-tripped to Berlin in '05 where there was a sex ad in the middle of the street with images of The Rabbit plastered all over it. My parents and sister's reactions were priceless at the time, because you don't really see ads with sex toys around in the States.
