Dear Mens:
May. 28th, 2009 12:46 pmDear Mens,
Don't you dare shave off that beautiful body hair! Please, please, please! Not unless you like to, but don't do it out of societal pressure or because you think it's unacceptable or unattractive.
I could go into a big long argument as to why body hair on men is such a wonderful, beautiful thing, but instead, I shall show a brief slide show to demonstrate:
Yours,
Nacey.

Note: This isn't a slight to our lesser haired brethren. Indeed, I have a great many crushes who don't have an abundance of chestal hair growth (James McAvoy, Ted Raimi, Elijah Wood, Oded Fehr (though I suspect he might shave), the list goes on...). I just don't think men should buy into the bullshit that having body hair is somehow less hygenic. It's NOT. It's bad enough that women feel bad and are treated like lesser people if they accept their bodies for what they are and let the hair grow free. Are we going to make it worse and start shaming the other half of society as well? When are we going to let people do what they like with their bodies and respect them as people regardless? Or am I being a silly idealist again?

Date: 2009-05-28 01:37 pm (UTC)Besides, if I were a dude I'd be way too terrified to shave down there. I do know a guy who has hair growing ON his dick...or so he says. Never seeing it, I don't know how bad it is, but he actually has to shave his penis (he says it's only around the base) because during sex the hairs get pulled out and causes rashes and pain for like days after :x Eep!

Date: 2009-05-28 01:49 pm (UTC)I like shaving my legs sometimes. I don't shave my pits but my hair there is so soft and brown there's no point. It's like fairy underarm hair. It glints gold in the sunlight!
Want to know something seriously hilarious about my pubes? They're brown at the front and BLONDE on the labia! Blonde from the clit to the back! I always make a joke that I'm brown on top and blonde down below! *laughs*
