Oh, and it doesn't even denigrate traditional "women's work."

Isn't it ridiculous that this very simple statement of fact had to come from muppets on a children's TV show? What happens to humans between the time they're in the Elmo demographic and the time they actually get to make decisions?

Incidentally, I feel rubbish today and this has cheered me up no end. Thank you, dear.

People who are not muppets tell them confusing and incorrect things.

This is why I continue to take advice from the following in the following order:

Oscar
Elmo
Grover
Humans.

I never take advice from Elmo because Elmo's a chump. But I'm a girl of the pre-Elmo period. My advice was taken from the likes of Kermit, Grover, Oscar, Cookie Monster, Herry Monster, The Count and Tele Monster. I also looked up to Miss Piggy a great deal, when she'd make little unexpected cameos.

I get why people hate on Elmo, but I love him. I took my inspiration as a child from Oscar and now I use Elmo to cling to a time when I too was cute and never shut the fuck up.

I didn't like Sesame Street much as a kid because I KNEW they were trying to 'EDUCATE' me and I didn't like that. TV was for being entertained, thank you very much. Except Oscar. He fucking rocks.

I was a muppet whore, I would watch anything Jim Henson, so I was religious in my twice-daily Sesame Street viewings, plus extraneous tv shows that were made by Henson Studios.

I don't hate Elmo to the point where I'd stick pointy things in a toy of him or anything, I just miss Grover memorabilia.

That muppet always reminded me of Stockard Channing when I was a kid.
