So, they're bringing Rose back. Half of me is like YAY and the other half is like, "Oh FUCK no." I was so hoping that we'd get some Martha time where she wasn't feeling inadequate last-companion envy. Hopefully she'll be over the Doctor enough in the next season so that she can be kick-arse. But I mean, it's been bashed into our heads, over and over again that there's NO WAY for her to get back. And I know it was always a possibility that she would but sweet flippity Jesus!

I'm interested as to how they'll do this, and I'll be really angry if they make out like she's the second coming. I kinda miss old Doctor Who when it gets like that. The thing about the Doctor is that he's a wanderer, a man wit' de laydeeez (sort of) and not one to get fixated on one woman. And that's kinda been arse about for the second and third seasons.

Anyway. If you want to bitch or delight in Season 4 spoilers, feel free to do so under here! :D

Dear god. Can they puhleeeeeze stop saying anything at all is final? (We've just killed off the last dalek. There are no more timelords left except the Doctor. The Master is dead (nah, I don't believe that one either))

I mean, I was all teary when Rose left and all, but that just makes the return even more inappropriate. And I was so proud of Martha for giving the Doctor a time out. Bah humbug.

It will be back next year, but there will only be three hour-long specials in '09, since David wanted to go off and be a serious actor (or at least a Shakespearian one) for a bit. :)

As much as I loved Rose, I loved Martha much more. Her strength and intelligence made her twice the woman Rose was. And then for her to tell him off in her own little way at the end was perfect. But bring Rose back? Why the hell for? Martha just became the exact type of character I was proud to have my daughter admire, and now they're going to bring back the one person who made the Doctor treat her like shit and made her feel small? *stabbity*

I really, REALLY love Martha. I love how smart she is. I try not to go on about her too much because I have friends that love Rose and I don't think there was anything wrong with Rose, not at all. She had a lot of heart and she was like a ray of sunshine. But Martha, to me, is a woman that I actually want to *be* more like. Someone I would look up to if she were a real person. Someone who I have no trouble in believing she can keep up with the Doctor. And she's never seen herself as below the Doctor in any way (not that Rose did either), and I just loved in Gridlock how she sat him down and MADE him talk about shit. I just *liked* that. He bloody needed it. She's a brilliant character and I really hope she gets some awesome time next season.

It's my understanding that Rose is only back for the one episode, in which Tennant does not appear, but Rose, Donna, Jack, Sarah-Jane and Martha all do.

Huh. I heard three episodes. Bizarre! As I said on ONTD - COMPANION BITCH-FIGHT!

We need to get them pillows, and fruit, and baby oil, and chocolate sauce and...

...

Mmmmm!

Oh it could easily be three - I just read that they're making the "Doctor-lite" episode (like Love & Monsters and Blink) an all-companions extravaganza.

But Billie Piper, John Barrowman, Catherine Tate and Elizabeth Sladen don't really do it for me. So it would just be Freema stand on her own looking sad and lonely...

I've only ever seen her in Doctor Who, but she seems the kind of person I'd love to have a drink with at the pub.

Well, from what I've gathered, you're kinda married to the Australian brunette version. LOL! You have to see her skit with David Tennant for Comic Relief, it was absolutely hilarious.

hahaha. OK, now that could be entertaining.

I was thinking it was a shame Rose never had a chance to take up SJ's offer of catching up for a cuppa sometime.
