Why, oh why, is the Doctor so pretty that they had to go get a Master just as pretty?

My brain exploded by the pretty on Saturday and has been melting in the aftermath ever since.

You know, I think the Master is cool, but he doesn't really do it for me. He's blonde. Auburn is as light as I'll go. Unless the guy is Michael York. :D
