Update on me

Heyo everyone.

Thought I'd let you all know how I'm going since it's been some time since I last updated. I'm still getting headaches. It's very frustrating, actually.

I keep reading on websites that codeine withdrawal only takes a few days. I'm worrying that I'm giving myself headaches by continual anti-inflammatory and paracetamol use. But quite frankly, if I don't use these pills, I am in such pain that I am vomiting, have diahrrea, you name it.

I feel like I'm totally stuck here. I wanted to get a job and raise money for things, but I'm too sick. I've been booked for another health assessment with Centrelink and I don't know what to tell them. I don't know when I'll get better.

I haven't been able to get much done. I had one drink of alcohol at New Years and I had to stop cause my head was hurting again. I get funny eyes and I get woozy and I absolutely can't think. Ears get sensitive and then that's it - I have to lie down. Even if it's for a half hour - it usually improves me some.

I'm taking three anthrex a day, six panadol, two endep and one and a half propranolol. I feel like Judy Garland. I also take the odd coloxyl for the unfortunate side effect of the panadol.

It's 2 am. I should get some sleep. It's hard. I have so many ideas and inspirations flying through my head but I completely lack the health at the moment to get them done. I was so hoping to be active this summer. :(

*huge hug* I get wicked headaches too, but not to the point that you're at. I'm really sorry you're still in pain! I wish I could relate better...

I still haven't mailed that package off. I'm terrible! I should be able to get to the PO tomorrow. Gotta love payday. ^_^

oh sweety Im so sorry to hear this and I so understand! Its been 2 months since my car crash and Im still in pain, it was such a small crash yet my shoulder etc arent healing and so I cant go back to work, Im lucky they have held my job but dont know how long it will last as dr says can be 6-12 months...ughh it wasnt even my fault :(

painkillers are a trap, sure they take the pain away but I hate taking them, theyre not making me heal just masking the pain. withdrawal from fortes has SUCKED big time, Im trying tho, but the pain sucks too. My sleeping patterns have never been great but when I take fortes they knock me out so I sleep... then Im all awake at odd hours!

One thing that really is shitting me is the headaches Im having since the crash, sunlight hurts my eyes, i feel like wearing glasses all the time!

have u tried a naturopath? the place in jandakot is cheaper (final yr students under guid of qualified person), Im thinking of trying them....

Jandakot might be cheaper but it costs a fuckton of money for me to get there petrol-wise. Plus I am spending all my spare dollars on my keetten's desexing which is coming up in a month. I'm seeing the doctor on Monday. Hopefully he'll make some sort of suggestion that helps.

Make sure you look around for vet prices, I did when I first started rescue, some cost 3 times the amount!! Some councils also offer half your money back to have your cat sterilised, also try the cat haven as their vets are probably cheaper too!

I think they are, my friends kids just adopted the most georgeous kitty from there, she is about 11 months and was due to be PTS that day.

she is like black with orange flecks, I have to get a pic, she is so smoochy now!

he is a good kid (13) he *wanted* a kitten, walked right past her, saw the little kittys, went back to her (she was curled up at back of cage), she got in his lap, he spent ages in there with her and decided he didnt *need* a baby kitten but wanted her.... then he found out it was to be her last day!!

Will get a pic today when I visit, she is really comming out of her shell (she was found dumped)

Oh, dear, that's awful! *multiple hugs* Don't cutting down on computer hours and generally protecting your eyes as much as possible from light help? I don't have headaches as bad as yours, as although the pain is horrid, the vomit phase has yet to happen, but what I talk of above usually helps. Plus, a lot of Ketonal. I have grown an immunity to most of the painkillers here, i.e., those that one can get without actually a visit to the doctor, so Ketonal is my last hope. If you have it there, perhaps you could try it? It doesn't give an addiction and it's very powerful.

In my opinion, headaches are even worse than PMS. At least in the latter case, my vision is not affected and the pain goes away after a number of days. I hope you'll feel better soon. *more hugs*

Headaches are WAY worse than PMS and menstrual cramps. I can't think, I can't do anything but lie in the dark. At least with period stuff, I can deal with that and it doesn't fuck with my head.

Hey, just a lurker here (I love reading your journal entries), but your case brought to mind one of my friends, who had terrible migraines that just wouldn't quit, no matter how much heavy medication she took. It got to the point where the headache went on continuously and disabled her, and she decided to go to the hospital.
It turns out that taking the wrong medication for her migraine (since apparently there are many different types, as if it weren't complex already) actually triggered what they called a "migranous state". They did some tests had to put her under regular medication for it to stop, and she's been a lot better since.
