I don't think Emma is too conventionally pretty. She's pretty in her odd sort of way. (Enough that a lot of people think she's ugly). Me? I think she's absolutely gorgeous.

Yes, I like the strength, the determination, the relentless ballsiness of the character - up until book five, anyway. *sigh* This is the Hermione I love.

I agree about Emma herself (I personally don't believe in 'mass beauty'). I think the movie people were right to choose her. I don't like the way they're changing the character though.

I'm glad you said that. I can't bring myself to read 5 & 6 anymore. Harry is too angsty, and everyone just doesn't seem...right. I dunno, perhaps I'm being weird, but I have a problem with the way the books are going. I'm still going to read 7, but I just don't feel the 'Omg! Must read NOW!!' feeling like I used to get.

I don't mind five too much. She was still pretty kick-arse in that. I see Harry's angst as a natural progression. It's a part of dealing with all the crap he went through. That was believable. It was book six that really shat me off, I think.

But yeah, I'll be more, "I guess I better read this... thing" for book seven.

Beautiful! Looks exactly like Emma! There's a specific GoF still that this reminds me of. Maybe I should look for it. Anyway, this is wonderful, I love that you sometimes use the actor to portray the characters. You know I've told you that a thousand times, but it really adds to the piece, I think. Makes it feel more realistic in a sense, since these are the people actually bringing these characters to life (besides JKR). And the great thing is that you're talented and creative to come up with your own versions of these characters as well, if you're so inclined. :)
