Pre-op blues.
Sep. 11th, 2006 07:23 pmWell, I crammed as much food into my stomach as I could between 12 and six. Probably not the best idea but I didn't eat anything this morning and I realised that I had to eat something before fasting. I didn't really eat that much. I ate:
- 2 toast and cheese sandwiches
- handful of rice crackers
- a steak bar (meat thing)
- chocolate icecream and some wafers
- half a cup of yogurt
- a bit of chicken
So that's two meals worth of food, I guess. It was hard to get down but I didn't want to be too hungry tomorrow. I hate being hungry! I guess I'm going to be hungry anyway.
I took the phospho-soda buffered saline mixture. Salty crap drink, essentially. Lemon-ginger flavoured sea water. Or sea glook. I nearly puked after swallowing it. I still feel nauseous, but talking to my sister Helen, I hear this is quite normal. I'm waiting for it to seriously hit me. I don't think it will be fun. :( I'm thirsty, though, so I might have some water.
I already miss food. Sort of. :T I'm covered in x's so when I go into theatre tomorrow they'll know where to stick the EMLA patches. I demand them. I'm not having the op without them.
