Expanding circle of friends.
Jun. 23rd, 2002 09:02 amHey all. My new friend Scott took me out last night to see a play at Murdoch University, where I met his friends; the drama unit ^_^. They were incredibly funny people, and I absolutely loved them. I'd even seen one of them before, as he had run an old Star Trek club called the Neutral Zone, the arch enemy so to speak of the Star Trek club *I* went to called Westrek.
One particularly amazing person that I met was a girl called Sonia (who ironically had rather large earlobes - Lano & Woodley joke there), who is Just. Like. Me. I shit you not. When we were kids, we both prefered late 60/70s rock (Jimi, Zeppelin, Black Sabbath etc), we hated Kylie Minogue (though I adore her now), we both love Hong Kong action movies, we both love musicals, we're both singers. I haven't found any other similarities yet cause I had to go home, I couldn't go to the cast party because Scott didn't really want to (and I wasn't dragging him there even if he was willing to do me a favour ^_^) and (Scott is so going to say "I WOULD have taken you!") and I had an eNOURmous headache developing, and I felt quite ill cause I took my pill on an empty stomach. Stupid me LOL. Anyways, I hope to hang with his friends again soon.
Another thing; Since I was in drama circles, I'd mentioned my musical version of Carrie and the Magnetism to quite a few people. They were all *really* interested, and all reacted like it was a really awesome idea. I was struck - I'd never encountered such enthuseasm for my idea before! I really feel like it's not all a waste of time, that my efforts in it are warranted and that when it came to me in a dream, it wasn't just my overactive imagination, that someone up there was gifting me with something. Trust me, the concept is *bizarre*, so whatever they're smoking in the great white yonder - I want some dang it! The Muses love me ^_^
Oh! And Diebin wrote WR fic! WOOHOO!
I better shoot off, I have quite a few drawings and a painting to do for people. GAH!
Hugs,
Nancy.
