So, Dave came over on his way home from work. He turned the computer on and off, had a listen to it, and looked up stuff on the net. It's of his opinion that it's totally buggered and that there's probably nothing to be done about it - it's just old.

Fuck. All my stuff is on the hard drive. I never backed the shit up, cause I'm a fucking idiot. I just sat down ont he floor and bawled my eyes out because of the work that's on there. Dunno how the fuck I'm supposed to get it off.

And now I have absolutely NOTHING to do for the next few days. And when I'm recovering, I'll have nothing to do. Cause sitting upright is apparently painful after surgery. I probably couldn't rest the fucking thing on my lap anyway.

Point being - big stop in my writing. My writing was the only thing making me feel productive and now it's gone. I'm so fucking depressed.

I don't know, I've never read their stuff. I don't read much fiction. I'm mostly the kind of girl that'll be engrossed in a book about some bunch of animals with heaps of text and lots of pretty pictures. I'm presently reading a book about sharks and rays, I'm about halfway through. The pictures make me feel calm. Ocean, beautiful animals. I'm such a dork. LOL!

Lois McMaster Bujold writes engaging space opera.

Have you read any of Promethea, the graphic novel series?

Uhm. No, none of those either. I don't really have the money to get stuff. Most books I come by are stuff my parents get or stuff I really save up for. (Which are usually books about Egypt. LOL).

OK, well, so far I'll bring around Promethea GNs 1-3, "Exile's Valor" by Mercedes Lackey (talking pretty horses!), "Born to Run" by Mercedes Lackey (elves with cars), and one of Lois McMaster Bujold's books. I'll see if I can be done with my Tamora Pierce book by tomorrow. That should keep you in reading material for a little while, anyway :-)

Thank you, darling. You really are one of the nicest people I've ever had the delight of being buddies with. *hugs the shit out of you and tries not to get happy-teary*

Ooh, and "Fire and Hemlock" which is a Diana Wynne Jones book. Not her best, but I haven't read anything *bad* by her.

Feel free to not read any of these books if they don't grab you, too. Just because I lend them to you doesn't mean you have to push yourself through them if you're not enjoying them.

That's cool. It wasn't you that had Poirot novels, was it?
