Art for art's sake.
Jan. 15th, 2006 11:20 pmI've been looking around deviantart.com for a bit of inspiration. Sometimes I worry that my art is far too predictable, like, it's boring. That's always been my problem, that my art is too conventional. Gah, I hate that about my work. I know I'll never get growth and development in my style unless I put some real hours in, and I just don't have them! Not with school coming.
It breaks my heart to not draw, sometimes. "Move it or lose it" is so true. *sigh*
My songwriting and lyrics are improving, though. I can at least be happy about that, I suppose.

There's nothing wrong with working with your own style - I think it's quite recogniseable, colours, faces, backgrounds. Being able to distinguish between artists by looking at pictures alone isn't a bad thing.
And there's always doodling.
Says this completely inept scribbler. I can't draw to save my life! At least you CAN! :D

Date: 2006-01-15 07:46 pm (UTC)I guess I know there's a well of potent material inside of me that I'm not drawing upon. It's not really a put down on my work, more a lament that I'm not doing my best! :)
