Art for art's sake.

I've been looking around deviantart.com for a bit of inspiration. Sometimes I worry that my art is far too predictable, like, it's boring. That's always been my problem, that my art is too conventional. Gah, I hate that about my work. I know I'll never get growth and development in my style unless I put some real hours in, and I just don't have them! Not with school coming.

It breaks my heart to not draw, sometimes. "Move it or lose it" is so true. *sigh*

My songwriting and lyrics are improving, though. I can at least be happy about that, I suppose.

I remain incredibly impressed at the level and beauty of your art. There's nothing wrong with working with your own style - I think it's quite recogniseable, colours, faces, backgrounds. Being able to distinguish between artists by looking at pictures alone isn't a bad thing.

And there's always doodling.

Says this completely inept scribbler. I can't draw to save my life! At least you CAN! :D

Don't say that about your drawing! I love your art! I think the way you capture expressions, emotions, and physiology is amazing! So amazing that it's beautiful. Your artwork is some of the best I've seen in the fandom.

Thank you, darling. It's sort of out of fandom stuff I'm worried about, like my fine art. I'm perfectly happy with my fandom art. :)

I guess I know there's a well of potent material inside of me that I'm not drawing upon. It's not really a put down on my work, more a lament that I'm not doing my best! :)

All I'm saying is you shouldn't worry... you have it in you, don't get get discouraged. You're an amazing artist in many ways... singing, songwriting, and drawing.
