logansrogue: (Bring it On!)
[personal profile] logansrogue
I'd been meaning to do this for a while...

Step 1: Get your playlist together, put it on random, and play.
Step 2: Write down the first line from the first 20 songs that play or close to it.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song the lines come from.
Step 4: I will cross out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 5: NO CHEATING.
Bonus: can you give me the next line in the song too?

First person to get it gets their name in bold after, I think that's how it goes, right?

1. In my mind And nailed into my heels, All the time Killing what I feel
2. All the banners stop waving and the flags stop flyin'
3. I like to dream yes, yes, right between my sound machine
4. Can't explain all the feelin's that you're makin' me feel... I Believe In A Thing Called Love. The Darkness. Guessed correctly by Emjay.
5. Didn't know what time it was, the lights were low-how-how...
6. When I was a young boy, I wanted to sail 'round the world... Six Months in a Leaky Boat, Split Enz, jakie_em.
7. She sings from somewhere you can't see
8. It's all right, I'll come round when you're not in...
9. I know the sun is in your eyes, and hurricanes and rains, black and cloudy skies.
10. I know you think that I shouldn't still love you or tell you that White Flag, Dido. bishounenjunkie
11. Oh... why you look so sad? I'll Stand By You, the Pretenders sparkleblsm
12. A thousand thundering thrills await me, facing unsurmountable odds, greatly.
13. I'm comin' now to see ya, I'm lookin' for a fast machine
14. You can tell from the scars on my arms and the stains on my skirt...
15. Monday finds you like a bomb that's been left ticking there too long... you're bleeding.
16. I was born long ago, I'm the chosen, I'm the one!
17. Well we had a lot of luck on Venus, we always had a ball on Mars!
18. We're charging our battery, and now we're full of energy
19. There's no easy answer, none to blame or forgive
20. I never meant to cause you any sorrow, I never meant to cause you any pain.

Some are easy, some are hard. :)

I have a Zaphod mix playlist and that song is on there, so I think I'm something of an authority.

You should put "Shine On you crazy diamond" on there by Pink Floyd. Definite Zaphod song. ;-)

Yeah, but I'm more than 10 years older than you! I wasn't hip enough to know these songs when they came out and am still mostly unaware of them.

My more current music tastes are probably less than hip, as well. You know what song I've been listening to on my MP3 players a lot lately? "Jump." Oh, no, not the original Pointer Sisters version. The cover by Girls Aloud. Girls freakin' Aloud! How can I like Girls Aloud?! At my age!

Well durn - everyone's beaten me to the few that I knew.

Hmmm - does this count? Is your link - "And I hear music! Sweet music!" a reference to "I Can Hear Music," recorded by the Beach Boys and written by Phil Spector?

LOL - maybe it's a subconscious, Freudian reference. :P
