bishounenjunkie has a copy of the article up in her lj Riots of people in beach-side suburbs of Sydney, beating up on people of Middle Eastern appearance.

I am so ashamed of them. It makes me sick to my stomach (and I'm already pretty sick there anyway), and it makes me sad for my country that this sort of thing is happening in it. I am always very proud of Australia, that she is a nation of different faces, different ways, all coming together peacefully under one ideal - to have a happy and free life.

I know this country isn't perfect, that a lot of awful things happen because of those that live in it. Sometimes I wonder if the current generation is spoilt rotten. They don't know what a wonderful thing they have in this country, how much some people would give to enjoy the lifestyle we have. What spoilt, selfish, horrible bastards.

I just hope this crap gets stomped out, and quickly. That sort of behaviour does NOT belong in this country.

And I love Australia. It's a lot more tolerant than the U.S., I'd say.

Jesus. That's awful! As somebody that was born in/lives in the States (and is extremely unhappy with our so-called adminstration of idiots in charge, gah. Do NOT get me started on those assholes!), it's distressing to read this stuff happening in other places as well as in my own. That sort of behavior belongs in NO country whatsover.

I worry about the state of the world muchly. I do. :-(
