Goodbye, Davy Jones.
Mar. 2nd, 2012 01:00 pmYou know, I'm bummed that I have to say goodbye to two amazing musicians in such a short space of time. I used to watch The Monkees repeatedly when I was a kid, I friggin' *loved* the show. And as I got older and became a musician myself, I was better able to appreciate them as musicians.
Their work was deeper than it seemed. There was a lot of brilliant stuff going on in the musicality. I don't care that they were the first "manifactured" band. They were still fucking good. And Davy Jones did wonderful work.
Instead of posting one of the ones Davy sang, I'm going to post my favourite Monkees song because I don't think it gets enough airplay. Enjoy!
