My uterus is really sockin' it to me tonight. I can't sleep. I am in RIDICULOUS amounts of pain. Everything hurts down there, and I mean EVERYTHING.

It's a lovely stormy day here. The sky is dark in patches and the wind is buffeting the trees around like pom poms. Ah, and now comes a pummeling of rain. It's making a great amount of noise on our tin roof - winter is coming! I can just feel the earth rejoicing at the sudden downpour. It gets so dry here during the summer, that the first real storm of the season is like a celebration. We need it and we implore the heavens - send it on down!

I'm curled up inside with the cat, warm and safe and dry. I wish I could go for a drive by the sea with my Dad. We love watching the angry waves bash the shoreline. Especially on beachheads and rock jetties. It's always spectacular to see nature at work. The foaming whitecaps of the sea and the churning water, stirring up the silt and the sand and making food available for the entire ecosystem. It's just wonderful!

Going to check out the beach after a storm is always great. Some amazing things to be found! Great bites also taken out of the swollen, soft sandy shores of summer. All of it taken away in one grizzly storm!

The colouring of a stormy day at the beach here is so beautiful. Dim white sands, cool grey seas, and the ruffling foliage of the dune plants in the gales. Up in the air, gulls tilt about in the currents, almost motionless in the strength of the wind.

There. My words don't do it justice. Though this picture doesn't really capture much either. There's something about being out in that, sitting in the car, listening to the wind and being comforted by your safety from the wildness outside. I'm also comforted by nature doing its work, moving in the inexorable rhythm of change. Our sunny days are something to behold, but the storms, I think, are exciting and wondrous in a different way.

(Unless you're driving or getting about in them, then they would be a right pain in the arse!)

Okay. So I've been inspired by watching this documentary called "The Truth About Female Desire."

I'm loving it. I love the open, honest, supportive discourse about women's sexuality. We need to share like this more often, I think. No body snarking, no bitching. Just talking about our experiences and validating our perspectives.

Have you seen this documentary? What did you think about it?
