Funniest shit ever.
May. 4th, 2008 08:32 amI just put some cooked chicken meat of the bone (leg, wing) out for the cats. I heard the friendly magpie family out there and I thought, "Hmm, maybe they'll want some too. It amounts to cannibalism but what the heck?"
So I put it out, and then it occurs to me - Lenny might want some. He might be under the boat. And lo and behold - there he was! So I pick the big furry dagball up, purring away, and take him to the plate of chicken meat.
There is one brave magpie that doesn't afraid of Lenny. Lenny's sitting there, stuffing his fat face with chicken, and this lone magpie was eyeing off this piece of chicken that it had already picked off the plate to be nibbled on. For about a good five minutes he crept closer to it, step my step, then ran away as soon as Lenny looked up. He got really fucking close to Lenny, too! Like, less than a foot! Finally, in a moment of total bravery, he darts in, grabs the meat then runs off in this funny victorious, happy hop. I've never seen a magpie look so freakin' proud of himself. I wished so much that I had it on camera!!
Then he finishes that piece, and Lenny is still munching away. The magpie wants more. But all the food is right in front of Lenny!
So he starts creeping over again, eyeing Lenny, jumping back every now and again. Lenny looks up from his food, takes one look at the magpie and says, "Mup."
Looks down and starts chowing down on the meat again! The bird tries to get more food, Lenny looks up patiently. "Mrow." Quiet, quick little thing that says "Go away. My food."
When he's done, he trots off happily and then promptly walks into a spider web and starts crawling backwards - stupid cat. I brought him in and gave him cuddles. :) He's such a good boy. Only eats rats and chickens. Leaves the local wildlife alone, mainly because he's too fucking fat and lazy to catch it, and why bother when there's plates of chicken meat to be had? :D
