I finally got to see McNaught's Comet and wow... what a beauty. I remember seeing Halley's Comet, and it wasn't that amazing. I remember seeing Hale-Bopp - it was all right.

But this comet... hoh, my fucking God. It goes on FOREVER. Seriously, guys, it has this flaring tail like a sprinkler jet that spans about ten full-moon widths or something, it's fucking brilliant. I stared at it for ages. So lovely!

It was really nice to watch the sunset and see the comet on my favourite bit of beach. It's north of Cottesloe beach and it has a reef there with a rocky outcrop. It's my Mermaid Rock, as I like to think of it. Whenever I write Amaryllis, that's where Amaryllis sits. On the sand next to that alcove, or in a pool (sometimes there are pools there).

It was terribly windy but the sand was silky and white and the dune grasses and plants were so pretty in the wind. I found two nice tiny shells with holes in from that little animal that eats the molluscs. Can't remember the name. Brain fart. Anyway, the shells are now dangling from my sleepers! :) Anyway, the beach was breathtakingly pretty and the sunset was a rainbow. Was absolutely fucking awesome.

Enough of my gushing! I have to go get some sleep, I'm so knackered!
