I am so poor that when I spill a considerable amount of my black pigmented ink (the expensive artist spectrum kind that never fades no matter what amount is in your brush), I actually get a straw and suck it up and spit it back into the bottle, even if it does get my teeth accidentally black (I had to scrub out my mouth and tongue with my toothbrush, so hard that it made me gag). I sucked up every frickin' drop I could, then had to wipe the table clean, my heart breaking at the waste as I go. Man.

That's how poor I am.

Strangely, mine tasted like poppy seeds. You know if you have a whole mouthful of poppy seeds? That's what it tasted like. The gross thing is that the ink is like blood - it clotted in my mouth. EW!

Think Ink

Hmmm... I'm trying to think if there is a better way to do that. Like a mini wet dry vac. Well, I guess you kind of made your own >^@@^< I don't suppose you could have squee gee'd it into a container?

I feel your frugal angst. I'm going to be living hand to mouth until I can land a job or something. I haven't eaten out in almost a year. Thank goodness I can follow a recipe and cook. I'm making my own bread, from scratch by hand, so I don't have to pay the 2 plus dollars a loaf at the grocery. Flour is cheap. My lawn mower died, and I bought the cheapest replacement I could, completely manual push mower, yeah powered only by the muscles of the person pushing it =^@@^= . This will be a very interesting summer *~_~*

thunderstorms... and I'm glad because the rain will wash the car for me. sigh.

Meow! *cuddles* You sound like you're somewhat worse off than me - you have my sympathies. I remember when I wasn't allowed to get unemployment benefits and I was really living off nothing. It was bad. No new clothes, no new nothing. Food and shelter cause I lived at home with the folks, but other than that - eeh.

It's so good to hear from you! *hugs* I hope you find a job, a nice one that you like.

purrs,
Nacey.

*me looks in ink drawer"
you know how some people have drawers or shelves of paint.
I have drawers of ink.
nanc, if you want some, I must have ~1L in many different bottles that I'm just not going to use in the near future. ie this year.

whachya doing with Real Ink in brushes anyway? the only use I know for that is transferring the ink from the bottle to a dip (calligraphy) nib.

It's what you use if you want vibrant blacks in comic work. I've used heaps of different kinds of inks and none of them sit on the paper right, or are black enough. This ink is brilliant - artists' spectrum pigmented ink - just gorgeous. :) It's not india ink or anything, it's different stuff.

What you need is a syringe and a blunt drawing up needle ... unfortunately I've only managed to smuggle one syringe and drawing up needle (I use them to clean and refill my printer cartridges) from my adventures on the wards. Never fear though I shall keep an eye out for some 10ml syringes and blunt drawing up needles for you.

ahhh that's another use for them then!
I use them for transferring water to my gouache, a drop or two at a time.
i'll theft some from work (we have them by the thousand here)
now ..... to work out how to get them to you :P

and as for the inks, I use the bottled inks for *practice* and the japanese stick inks for the real stuff.

What about printer colour ink refill kits? They have syringes you can use to draw up ink and then drip into containers. True, you'd have to shell out money for one, but it'd be a one-time expense, I should think.

Hehehe... Not an artist, unfortunately i lack any drawing skills at all :(.... Anyway, just wanted to tell you that Muddgutts, being the darling he is, has a new fanart for your fic The Christmas Party... Go look! Its really cute:)

best wishes,

Paula

Ps: Resists the urges to annoy Nancy about The Snitch...
But, *poke. poke* what about that VERY old smutty fic(http://www.livejournal.com/users/nacey/1557.html#cutid1) you promised to update but completely forgot about it?

Yes, he sent me a look see before anyone else got to see it. I was so excited!

As far as Kissing Her Lips goes, I think I won't write it, because all the issues I was going to play with in that I addressed in The Snitch, and much better. So yeah. Sorry to disappoint! :T I have other fan-fics in the works though, so don't worry :)

Well, being a h/hr fan I've learned that one should look for small details... Since you said "I think I won't", i will just keep hoping one day you might write it! *sigh*

But, thanks for answering my question! Really, it makes me all warm and fuzzy when ***Nancy*** answers me:) I mean, i sing too, not as well as you, and i greatly admire your work! Keep up!
