Congratulations Kylie.
Feb. 9th, 2004 09:38 pmI'm so happy for Kylie Minogue. Good on her. She's stepped forward and paved the way for future Australian female artists (like me). Sadly, I don't think 'Come Into My World' really is the song that deserved a Grammy. 'Confide In Me' is certainly her masterpiece, and it will remain my all time favourite.
Either way, way to go, girl! Barnstorm and establish the grounds for world domination of Aussie female singers. Woot!

Date: 2004-02-09 06:39 am (UTC)Then the silly tart made 'The Delinquents'. This was a film too risque for her biggest fans, the ones like me who weren't old enough to go see it. I took it as a real slight and haven't been able to forgive her since. Of course, part of that might be to do with the fact that she not the much more popular Jason was able to reinvent herself, and the fact she peddles trashy pop of the sort I haven't been able to stomach since 1989. And it didn't help that once I did see the Delinquents it sucked big time.
And yet... I can't not respect her at least. I don't like her and I've never forgiven her but I do respect her (grudgingly). And if she's paved the way for Aussie chicks like you to achieve world domination, then forgiveness might one day be forthcoming.
Love and hugs!
