Moe Tkacik, ex-Jezebel editor, writes the most egregious, mendacious fucking steaming pile of crap I have ever seen on the Assange case. TRIGGER WARNING AHOY. Seriously fucked up shit.

She then stirs up a twitter fight with activists, seemingly to get extra attention, before her superior pulls the piece. Moe is furious, super furious. Doesn't care if she's FIRED.

"I DIDN'T SLANDER THEM, I SAID THEY WERE TOTALLY HOT, GOD!" Yeah uhm... Jesus Christ.

If you're curious, here's the article before it got pulled.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Moe, you're not only a morally reprehensible self-centered douchefuck, you're a really, really terrible writer. Please find a suitable job in advertising.

Oh my god. Everything from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on is...I don't have any words for exactly what it is. It's like the first part of the piece was an unobtrusive pile of crap, just sitting there steaming quietly, and then a particularly flatulent cow wandered past and took an epic new dump all over it. Yes, in sexually liberal societies, rape isn't frightening, and women can attack men and stuff for doing it, without being shamed all over the place. Say, by having their names printed in a poorly-written character attack masquerading as journalism.

Damnit. I was really enjoying her writing about the economy. Why the hell did she feel the need to wade into that at all, let alone a barely coherent ramble based on the half-assed speculation about the accusers from over a week ago while ignoring the currently well source material.

Also - if you are going to make a very involved complex point about real life, don't use a fictional thriller as the main source of observations about Sweden which form the basis of your argument.

Especially if you are someone who has vehemently (and correctly) mocked those whose arguments about torture which are heavily dependent upon 24.

You, with your Earth logic and your understanding of rhetoric, begone.

She did get about one thing right about the Swedish cultural view on rape: It IS generally more common for Swedish women to make a report, due to our legal and gender-equal culture. That does NOT mean that we're more likely to fight back, or even get to win in a court. I saw a debate today about the whole affair, and it was mentioned how Michael Moore got it a bi wrong to simply assume that there are more rapes committed in Sweden because we have a higher statistic of reports. My guess is that we're about the same level as the rest of the world.

I think I have mentioned once before about a Swedish doctor that got away with drug-raping a patient, because she came back for more of the addictive drug (and thus more rape) before she came around to reporting him. A higher percentage of reports does NOT mean that you would have a harder time getting away with rape here.

That was muddled mess of WTF that did a good job of completely obscuring its point, if there was one.
