Episode, Hell House. I find it highly amusing that a fandom with one of the most misogynistic fanbases ever has one of the male leads actually use the word in a conversation, unironically. It's like, "Wow. This is not a word I ever hear on prime time TV. Nice going, Kripke."

They do a lot of little things like that. Some women characters get to have serious kickass moments, and outrageous bravery moments, and some get to be screaming and ineffective - in other words, just like women were real people or something! It's pretty awesome.

See, for a long time all I knew about Supernatural was what I read in Fandom Wank, so I was a little leery going in, worrying that Dean Winchester was going to be unbearable. But so far he's been an okay dude with a bad habit of saying "bitch" a lot. Other than that, the show's been pretty awesome about the whole women thing.

I just saw the episode where Sam had the cool girlfriend who was all, "Don't get all "I'm cursed, you'll only get hurt" with me, I have a say in this shit too!" kind of thing, and I liked that a lot.

I am very pleasantly surprised. :)
