I'm still sick.

My ears and my face still hurts, but it's not quite as face-hurty as it was before. More flegmy now, and with more actual sickness, as in achy bones and wiggy temperature control and feeling nauseous. Regular cold symptoms.

Mum and Dad are on holiday till Monday, so it's Scotty and me kicking back in the house. I've subsisted off orange juice, pizza, Crunchy-nut Cornflakes, episodes of Doctor Who and opiates. I don't know how healthy that is, but it certainly was fun. Thing is, I'm too sick to really make myself anything substanial, which is a bugger cause I'm sick and I could certainly use it. Catch 22.

I keep having to take my clothes off, then put them on cause I'm cold, then take them off because I'm hot, then put them on cause I'm cold. Very, very annoying.

On the upside, haven't really noticed my pelvis hurting as it usually does. But that's probably the cold distracting me.

MY NOSE HURTS. I HAVE A BIG NOSE. THIS IS A PROBLEM.

I hope you feel better soon! There's been some nasty-ass viruses going around, and unfortunately the Doctors can't seem to offer much relief. I guess if modern medicine can't help, then the logical solution is pizza :D

Me too, man. The doctor had me on antibiotics for ten days. Like I expected, they did nothing. Of course they did nothing! I'm suffering from a viral infection here, I know it. Mum reckons he's guarding me against a bacterial infection on TOP of it.

Ah, the Martian Death Plague, how I love thee. I had the pleasure of a visit from the Voracious Virus, due to the fact that children are vectors for disease and when you work in an elementary school, you WILL get sick. It's a law of Nature.

It's a law I wish wasn't enforced so much.

My vector was a local sci-fi con. As I said on the entry when I first got sick, I smooched people and hugged people. I may as well have walked around licking doorknobs.

It's the sore guts and bones and burning nasal passages that fuck me off the most.

Oh that's different. It's Con Crud. You don't have to lick doorknobs. That bug just lies in wait and ambushes people by latching onto their left ear, and the second you pull an all-nighter on the party floor, it crawls in and lodges in the cilia of your nasal cavity. If you listen closely, you can hear its evil laughter as it gets out the spray bottle of Con Crud Anthrax and douses your membranes fully.

Dude. I WAS ONLY THERE FOR SIX HOURS. I didn't even stay the night! LOL!

My first evar con, back in 2000, was in Pasadena in California. (Xena con). I got sick after that one. The second one, I didn't notice. Douglas Adams went and died on me during my holiday, so that was all I could think about. I don't think my friend understood why I was quite so distraught. I wrote a lot of fic to cheer me up. Plus I wasn't so good at dealing with my depression in those days.

My temperature regulation has been on the fritz ever since the Con, and I'm still fighting a long drawn out battle with various virii. Need more rest than normal, Mukor the Slime God™ makes frequent appearances, etc, etc.
