The real disaster of Perth's storms...

A significant number of native birds were hurt or killed by the storm. Badly hit were our Carnaby's Black Cockatoos, an endangered species that has been losing a lot of its numbers recently due to habitat destruction and natural calamity.

It just breaks my heart. I really worry about the Carnaby's. I love hearing them fly overhead before a storm.

That's so tragic about the Carnaby's cockatoos. :( I love them so much, they're one of my favourite birds.

That's tragic! Hopefully they can do a captive breeding scheme + start re-introducing them to areas of suitable habitat.
