Just photo-bombing you with pictures of my birdy friends.

Someone's hungry.

The babiest of the birds is quite vocal and demanding.

Score!

Later on. I don't know why they are sitting around with their mouth hanging open. I wonder if it's the shitty heat.

Accidental flash! Sorry buwd.

Bright brown eyes!

I ain't gonna lie. She looks funny.

This raven was super friendly!

The look on the magpie's face at the end cracks my shit up so hard!!

I don't know if you're remotely interested, or know this already, but the magpie in your first two photos is a female. :)

Also, yay birds!

I did know. I don't know the sex of the juvenile cause apparently they have a scalloped neck until they mature, so I just call it Babby-Buwd.

I love birds. I don't care if people think I'm nuts for talking to them or being nice to them. I figure those bastards have been here longer than we have, and they used to be dinosaurs at some point, so they deserve a bit of respect. Plus it's so nice to gain their trust. I feel like Snow White when I'm walking around being followed by wild animals.

It is indeed due to the crappy weather. (When will this gods-damned easterly go away and let us cool down?!?!?!?) It's called gaping, and is the avian version of a dog's panting, as I understand it.

I would also think it is less efficient at dumping heat but rather more water-efficient than the canine version.

It's so cute when they do it, it's like, "HAI THAR!"

I put out a big basin of water for them to play in but they weren't interested.

Aww, cute birds.

There's a red-tailed hawk that hangs out near my building sometimes, but I don't have my camera so I can't get a picture.

It could be me-but when ever you see pics of birds they usually have a WTF? look on their faces.

These ones look particularly WTF due to their gaping.
