Detective du Jour? Holmes, it seems.
Feb. 16th, 2010 10:52 amABC has finished with its collection of Poirot episodes and is moving on to play old episodes of Sherlock Holmes. I thought, "Hah, I might give that look. I like detectives, it sounds like fun." I've never read a book of Sherlock Holmes, but I've heard a *lot* about him, obviously.

That's the episode.
Woooow. Those guys are SO gay for each other. Holy fucking shit. Is Holmes supposed to be that creepy? What really cracked me up about this guy is that the actor that plays him reminds me strongly of Colin Lane, the comedian who was in Lano and Woodley.
But yeah, Holmes - so utterly gay, he makes Poirot look like John Wayne.
I thoroughly enjoyed it though. And the casual opiate use is also pretty funny - not that it's supposed to be, but you know. I just love how it's like, "Oh, Holmes, not again!" Like he's drunk half a bottle of vodka and vomited in the pot plant again. HE JUST SHOT HIMSELF UP WITH HEROIN, YO. God I love the attitude to opiates in those centuries. Just love how morality changes like that, it's really interesting to me from a sociological standpoint.
Anyway, yes, I shall try to catch more episodes of this show, it's funny.

Date: 2010-02-16 03:05 am (UTC)I haven't been able to enjoy Sherlock Holmes after reading Christie.
One of these days when I have lots of money I'm buying every Christie DVD in existence...
