Kylie Minogue is being body-snarked in her latest venture.

Now, I agree that Chiggy Wiggy is a problematic track, mainly because Minogue doesn't have the pipes for Indian pop and it's abundantly clear when she sings next to her more experienced duet partner. He knows how to sing that music, he's been trained his whole life to sing that way. Singing like that needs discipline and man, a LOT of vocal acrobatics which poor Minogue is not up to. I love her music, I love her sweet, simple voice. But she is not up for Indian Pop, at least, not next to a very experienced star of the genre.

HOWEVER.

Panning her by saying she looks like "A fat housewife in a kaftan"? She looks STUNNING. Sure, she's curvier than she's been in the past but my God, her body is to die for! There is not a THING wrong with it. And fuck, she's ALIVE! I'm sure she's perfectly happy to have a healthy body rather than a body the obviously fickle media are happy with.

Seriously... if Kylie Fucking MINOGUE isn't good enough for these motherfuckers, who is? When will the complete and utter madness end?! She is stunning, she has kept the clock paused on "Somewhere in her 30s" for the past ten years and she is STILL writing brilliant music WHICH IS WHAT SHE'S PAID FOR. And that's not good enough?

People keep lifting the fucking bar. And women keep trying to leap over it, when we should be knocking the motherfucking thing DOWN!

I get the impression there's possibly a bit of nationalistic snobbery going on here - the film producers paid Minogue US$1,000,000 to appear in their film, which is a lot more than your average Bollywood star is likely to earn. I think they may be tearing her down because there's a lot of resentment at a non-Indian performer coming in and getting paid better than most of their homegrown (often exceptional) talent.

If people said that, instead of body snarking Kylie Minogue, then I wouldn't have objected. And I agree. There are much better singers than Kylie in Bollywood. She's not a Bollywood singer. But she's just doing a job. Giving her a hard time for her appearance isn't going to get anyone else a job and is just fuelling the negative atmosphere for female performers and women in general.

Yeah absolutely, I just think their starting point is not "OMG Kylie is unattractive" so much as "OMG Kylie isn't Indian".
