There's alot of people here in the States... even those who voted for Obama that feel he's now fucking everything up even worse. Honestly, I don't see it. I stand by my vote for him. Honestly, he's doing better than McCain and his wanna-be Barbie doll VP could ever do.
i know. this isn't the first time i've heard of something like this. a group of people over on ravelry were literally making threats against the president. the FBI or the Secret Service showed up on the door step of the person who ran the site and had nothing to do with this group.
Yeah this wasn't long after he was elected. The owners of the site told them to stop. They didn't. And it just started getting worse. By the end, before they were banned, they were not only threatening Obama but the owners of the site and their dog. It was insane.
Yeah it was some knitting community that was based around republicans or something. there's other communities on there like that, but they don't go so far as to make threats against the president. some people are just sick.
Thank you! I'm the only one in my family that voted Obama (and damn do they let me know it. they're all racist) and on my FList here, I have a couple people who *really* let me know how they feel.
My Dad's racist too, it's a bummer. He doesn't want anyone dead though. Just nicely compartmentalised in their little countries and not mixing. So he makes me grit my teeth instead of sob heartily.
Yeah after the election my mom was so so so mad at me, like I single handedly put him in office. Its like "really? cuz I know I didn't vote for Bush... and he kinda started it"
I don't remember getting irrationally angry at my family after the two previous elections.. though I feel in hindsight I had every right to.
My Dad said to me after Kevin Rudd got into office here, "If I had have known you were gonna vote for him, I would have made you walk to the voting poll."
Yeah, he says this to his disabled daughter. Lovely! LOL.
yeah see... the first time bush was eleceted i was like 6 months shy of legally voting. so i never got to vote for him. the second time around, i let the guy i was with influence my voting choice (he is anti-gay big time) so i voted bush. i regretted it afterward. but i didn't trust kerry at all anyway (he sort of scared me). this time around i went with the one i saw as a true change for the country, the economy, and honestly... the world. i mean, mccain was joking about beating his wives (he's been married what? 3 times now?) and that just made me go .... WTF is this shit?! and then there's the caribou barbie he had for his VP, i won't even get started on her. and he's what? 80 yrs old?! there's no way he's going to live a full term, and again, i don't want her for president. anyway i made this very long winded, and i apologize to you and nancey for rambling in her journal. T_T i really need to get back to the babies so.. yeah.. i'm done!
Nope. There was no SCARY BLACK MAN to make a monster out of. What baffles me senseless is that, as far as leaders go, he's so fucking fair and measured and thoughtful and middle-of-the-road.
That's why they have to resort to calls to violence. They know that having an actually reasonable conversation wouldn't lead them anywhere they wanted to go, so they're trying to bypass that whole "legal system" thing and just find some way, any way, any way at all, to get that scary black man out of office. HE'S COMING FOR YOUR WOMEN.
