I think I've earned the right to call myself a wog. I have to shave the back of my legs to get rid of big black random hairs that grow there, and I just pulled a huge black hair out of my top fucking lip.

Fucking androgens!!

ETA: Waxed the fuckers. GOD DAMN that shit hurts! Oh my GOD. No amount of moisturiser can sooth you of that pain. As if women don't suffer enough, us hairy ones have to do this shit to ourselves. Mother-puss-bucket!

I'm "black Irish" - my dad's hair (when he met Mom) was very dark, and he's very hairy, though now he's bald on top and his body hair is white. Anyway, I used to have a lot of body hair, until menopause. Now, yay, the objectionable amount has dwindled. If only I could get rid of these granny hairs on my chin (which I got from my mother's mother). Ugh.

You aren't meant to have to shave the back of your legs?

I hear you on the lip thing. I'm trying to ignore the ones growing on mine.

(I think my family has some Macedonian heritage in it somewhere, somehow, but I don't know the details.)

I'll have those, my Mum has them. She sits on the lawn in the sunshine and plucks them out. LOL! That'll be me in thirty years!

You have strong East-European bone structure so I wouldn't be surprised.

I've been told that I'm only supposed to shave my lower leg hair, and not to shave the upper leg hair or it'll grow coarse. I then learnt that it doesn't matter if you shave or wax, hair will grow where it will no matter what you do, bar electrolysis. Hmm, maybe I can save up for that. I'd only want my top lip done. Or, I could keep the money and buy something actually useful. Damn. Beauty or awesome?

hm. I have never been told that before. Chris reckons we should look into my mothers side of the family (though there's all sorts of drama I think with them, including secret adoptions and affairs that might make that difficult). By Chris reckoning he asked me what my grandmothers maiden name was :P

I know I definitely get my deepset blue eyes, bum chin, acne as a teenager and terrible sense of humour from my dads side though, who at some point were very definitely British before Australian.

Hehe. Go with the awesome. True beauty is natural. I've never been more loved or happier than when I've been going 'fuck this beauty shit', kept my hair the way I liked, not shaved my legs, not worn makeup and had dirt permanently under my fingernails. Also I have one million scars now and it doesn't bug me in the slightest.

Wow, your family history is pretty dramatic! Ours is rather straight-forward, really. Only one abandoned child of a French dancer back in the day (great-great gramma or something) and just a mingling of Sicillians, Maltese, Scottish and German heritages. Sheep-fuckers on the German side, who went city-side when the farming industry dried up and the Industrial boom took off. A lot of rural people, which is probably why I like my space, my music and my animals. :)

I was being largely rhetorical. It's really hard remaining worried about your looks when your body is rebelling against you. I don't have the scars you do, just a handful of laparoscopic scars on my belly, but that's enough. I just get so sick and tired of body troubles. I can't imagine having to worry about recovering from bone breakage and reconstruction, that must be fucking horrible. :( OH well. We can have pain-killer parties. I just took two Dolased. You're lucky you can take tramadol, that stuff was fuckin' miraculous for my pain but I went mental on the stuff.

Haha, the only reason we know about the drama is when greatgrandma was dying, mum and grandma did most of the work going through her stuff. Also when she was having memory issues, she kept talking about this one man, so much from a time when greatgranddad was away... we're fairly sure it was an affair. Mums side apparently liked drama even way back then.

Heh, belly scars, we shall have to have a compare sometime, no point getting mangled if you can't get a laugh out of it. And that's pretty much how I'm dealing with most of the bone and pain issues (though this strategy is much easier now Chris is around). That and getting really angry at very silly things, to burn energy off. :P

Yeah, tramadol really is a strange drug, grandma and me are the only people I know that seem to be able to take a decent amount of the stuff and not get horribly ill. The doctors seem surprisingly happy with my drug use, which is impressive given how much stuff they've put me on. I don't know anything about drugs in general though, to make a comment about Dolased.

I have four little scars on my belly. Last time the two hip ones got swollen and went keloid on me which sucked so bad. They kindly cut out the keloid scarring from last time, and now the spots are doing much better. Hopefully it'll stay that way.

Dolased is basically a stronger Mercyndol. There's 11 or 12 milligrams of codeine instead of 8.5. Which is great cause sometimes you need that extra kick to get rid of the pain. Or ignore it anyway.

Doctors are pretty laid back about pain medication in general. I think it's alternative medicine people that make the most noise about painkillers.
