I loved that article. (We subscribe to Newsweek.) It's the only one from that issue I've read through entirely. You can make up any freakin' theory you want to as long as it *seems* to make sense when you're looking at something that can't be empirically studied. Think of something that doesn't make sense and you can *still* find a way to defend it as "evolutionarily beneficial". Um... homosexuality is a preferred characteristic because it lowers the likelihood that two men will kill each other since they'll be too busy boffing each other instead! I don't know. That was weak. I bet I could come up with something better if I had, like, a week. ;)

I have to say that magazine is getting some high props from me lately - there have been two articles now that mention either the place where I work, or some of the scientists who are big names in their fields and who do work on the journals I work on. :D Did ya read the "Crazy Talk on Oprah" article? Did ya? I met two of the scientists they interviewed in that one at a meeting a few weeks ago! (Nanette Santoro is awesome in person.) [/bragging] I love the way I'm able to make it sound like I do something high-profile and intelligent, instead of just the clerical work on medical manuscripts. XD
