Well, I want to give it a chance to settle first. I don't want to rip it out before knowing whether it'll work or not, you know? I still have the odd good day, and I really like those odd good days.

Ugh. After this time, it's probably worth going back to your doctor and having it removed, if it's causing this much ickyness. Seems kind of silly for your treatment to make you feel worse.

It does, doesn't it? But I don't know whether I've given it enough time to settle or not, and I really want it to work. I guess I'm scared to be back where I was before, which is weird cause I feel ten times worse than I did with the endo!!

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's frustrating to think that you went through all this effort to get the damn thing and it's not helping. I have no experience with IUDs, so I don't have any advice on how long they might take to settle. Have you thought of asking at [livejournal.com profile] endometriosis to see if anyone else there has had similar Mirena experiences?

*hugs* I'm sorry this is sucking for you.

I'm surprised you're having issues still...how long's it been now? I had about three weeks of soreness and cramping, but after that I became the freaking posterchild for Mirena.

No periods, no cramping, I lost about 20 pounds that the depo shots were hanging on to...no worries for five years. My body was a trainwreck before, never regular, horrid all the time, plus it's helped curb the cysts in my breasts and ovaries - 's why I'm so surprised that it's doing the opposite to you.

*snugs* With meds it's always trial by fire. I hope you find some relief soon honey.

It'll be three weeks tomorrow. I don't want it ripped out before it's had a chance to work for me, see. :T

Hmm. Yeah, I agree. For the first bit, every breath I took felt like somone was punching me in the gut...my doc said the same thing though - giving it about a month before going back in to remove it. And by then it had settled and started leveling me out.

I really had gotten used to so much though, after about month 2-3 I was completely amazed at how much better I felt...like I didn't know I was that bad off until I didn't have to deal with it anymore.

I hope upon hope hope hope that this is the case with you m'deary!! *fingers crossed in Tennessee*

Did the doctors give you a rough estimate on how long it'll take to settle down?

Ugh. Sounds like yuck.
