I've been trying to connect my Nintendo DS up to the internet via Wi-Fi and for some reason it just can't read our wireless internet. Or our router is refusing to talk to the DS, I can't really figure out which at the moment. I've tried all sorts of things - it's incredibly irritating. I guess I'm not really missingo out on too much but I like the additional functionality, you know?

Oh well.

Heh. the DS is incredibly picky. This is stuff I've found out trying to get it to work:

+ router must be broadcasting an SSID
+ you can only use WEP security
+ try changing the channel number (10 seems to work for me)
+ mixed network mode

Hope that helps!

Will change to 10. What is mixed network mode, precious?

If your router has a setting for what mode (G-only, B-Only or mixed) choose mixed. It might not make a difference though.

Ours would only connect once we played around with the MAC addresses or something. Or maybe that was the Wii. All I know is it wasn't easy to get it to do and that was when my IT guy husband was here trying to do it. Good luck!

I gave up. After looking online, it seems like it's a terrible idea anyway. People would just come into my town and trash it. I'll stick to going DS to DS with my nieces and sister.

Okay, but I hope you realise that you can buy a USB adaptor that will connect your DS->PC->greater world. I have one, and I've used it like once.

I know. :) Will probably look into getting one next time I'm at Dick Smith's or EB Games.
