Up late watching Xena.

logansrogueI just watched "Callisto", the first episode with Joxer in it. Apart from the amusement of listening to my little brother get horny for Hudson Leick, I also enjoyed Gabrielle and Joxer's first conversation together.
I remember why I wanted to bring Gabrielle down a peg when I wrote fan fic. She's such a sanctimonious little trollop. Seriously. She'd forgive Xena *anything*. Her ability to make excuses for Xena is stellar. I'm amazed.
That aside, Ted Raimi kept reminding me of my boyfriend. Which, I must say, isn't a bad thing but it's certainly weird. But weird *good*.
God, it's past 1 am. WHY am I awake? Silly silly!

Date: 2008-07-08 07:18 pm (UTC)However, like you, I do think that Gabrielle should've been given SOME type of comeuppance for the way that she could be such a sanctimonious twerp by the writers. That was my biggest issue with her character throughout the entire series. She could be so self-absorbed at times that it bordered on the ridiculous - and yes, she could be an extreme yes-woman for Xena (Smell the co-dependency over THERE! *Gabrielle waves*) and she'd be willing to excuse her for anything, yet God forbid that any other character, particularly Joxer, do anything that wasn't perfect. Then, no-holds-barred, ppht.
Yes, I'm still aggravated at her today.
