Oh man. What a fantastic evening! Me, my brother Scotty, my Dad and my two nephews all went down to North Cottesloe beach. It's my special place, my spirit place. Sadly there's sand covering most of my beautiful limestone outcrops, but they'll come back in the winter when the storms take the sand away. :D Now there's lovely little temporary shallow pools and lots of lovely soft sand. Worn rocks kind of stick out of the soft white sand under your feet when you're in the water. You can grip them with your feet in the swell. The swell was lovely - no dumpers! Just a lovely rolling swell that took you for a ride for a few metres then deposits you on the sand! :D A steep incline on the shore but nothing I couldn't deal with.
Oh there is nothing better for me, nothing better than floating in sea water and gazing at the sunset. The sky was such a delicious mauve colour and there were tiny dappled clouds glowing a fiery pink. When the sun set, for a moment it looked like a glowing, fiery ship on the horizon. It was absolutely breath-taking.
I love that I can experience that whenever I want to. That I can sit on a soft white sandy beach, roll in delightfully cool waves with a gentle breeze, bask in absolutely *perfect* weather for swimming. It's a blessing, an absolute blessing. Mum was saying today "Why couldn't my father have taken that turn to Canada?" (Grandpa was on his way to Canada when he stopped in Perth - middle of the summer, mind - and decided that it was perfect here and decided to stay). I am so very, *very* glad that he didn't. That beach is like my pulse.
Dad got some photos on my mermaid rocks. And in the little tide pools that had formed. :D I wished so much I had a tail to wear. I have to make mine soon as possible so I can go to the beach! :D
