I *finally* got around to watching the CDs full of Cities of Gold that the wonderful Grant ([livejournal.com profile] angriest) burnt for me for my birthday. I was bouncing up and down on the couch with a big goofy grin on my face. Estaban is *just* as adorable as I remember him being! I was worried the show wouldn't be as good as I remembered it, but like Ulysses 31, it hasn't lost its awesomeness, or had awesomeness due to childhood memories. The story really is fabulous.

The only thing I sigh about is that the person that put the episodes on the net cut off the educational bits at the end of the episodes. I fucking *loved* those as a kid!

I just took 25 milligrams of codeine. Hopefully it'll help with the pain. It's already taking effect!

Oh, and my right ovary is giving me SO MUCH GYP!! I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight. *sigh*

Dammit ... I'd LOVE to have a copy of those CDs. Oh man :/

(BTW cool you were finally able to watch them. I bought a copy off of eBay awhile ago and they were screwed up.)

You met him? Oh awesome!
In a suit even?! Sweet!
Ted is joy, joy in a suit :-)
Did you get to meet him at a con or something?

Also I had to go and YouTube Cities of Gold because I never heard of it. I'm 32... I think I should remember this cartoon but I don't. It's very cute though. Was it aired overseas or something?

I'm in Australia, and it was a French/Japanese Manga. French/Japanese mangas are my favourite because they don't have the misogynistic bullshit most Japanese animes have, but they have the sweet animation and innovative ideas of Japanimation. A joyous union. They also did a series called "Ulysses 31" which I STRONGLY recommend if you enjoyed Homer's recording of Ulysses adventures home from the Trojan War. Cause it's a sci-fi adventure based on that. Too cool!

As for Ted - yes, I did get to meet him. I went to two Pasadena cons on two successive years - 2000 and 2001. First year I met Kevin Smith, next I met Ted Raimi. Best two years of my life, man. LOL! I met Bruce too, actually, that was - wow. An experience! Here's me with the Tedmeister:

Dawwwww that's a great picture :-) He seems like he'd be so nice to meet.
(And, hehehe, can I ask why he's wearing the little bell around his neck?)

Bruce is a diety, 'nuff said there. I started a religion where we worship his chin. We call ourselves Chinnites and I'm a High Holy Chinnite Priestess.
It's all a big joke really, just something to share our love of Bruce :-)
::quick hides her Chin shrine::

I have yet to go to a convention. I was supposed to go to one in New Jersey earlier this summer and meet James Marsters ::swoon:: but it just didn't end up working out. I figure I'll get to one eventually and enjoy every minute of it :-)

I agree!
And I'm definitely going to check out Ulysses 31 because it sounds great :-)

It's so funny you live in Australia. My bestest-friend-I've-never-met, my brother-from-another-mother, lives in Warrawong.
