It's 2 am and I'm starving. My body is craving food. But I don't think it NEEDS food at all! Here's what I've eaten today:

- a medium sized packet of chips (250g)
- 2 apples
- Most of a diet shepherd's pie bowl that my niece didn't want (About 200g)
- A fair handful of those lovely eggy waffly crackers with about sixty grams of that lovely parmesan/cashew/basil dip by Wattle Bridge
- A bowl of salad
- A small bowl of icecream

I don't know why I'm still hungry. :( I think my body, being as cold as it is, thinks "Time to BLUBBER up!" and is urging me to gain layers of fat for the winter. No. No, body! We have clothes for this! I did not go walking two kilometres today for you to screw it all up by eating all the pesto dip in one sitting and gorging yourself on chocolate! I will allow a sandwich or two - no more!

Oh, and I read on the side of a weet bix box that we're allowed to have about 8000kj a day. I'm like, WHAT?! Okay, when I made that mud cake and was eating a bit a day, sure, I might have JUST met that amount. But generally I barely tip 7000. Three meals a day, all of those 1500-2100kj worth. My worst sin is chocolate. When I have chocolate, then I probably tip the limit.

I have to wonder if that's the kj amount for someone other than me. It's hard to average these things because humans vary so much. I'm sure there are things that I eat that wouldn't cause a lick of difference on one of those awesome skinny chicks that can eat loads, or things that I eat that might cause others to balloon.

I'm going to try to eat something healthy that'll fill my guts. Wish me luck!

Yeah. I had a moment like that last night.

On the way home from having a nice meal at my parents, I realized that I had nothing at home for dessert. So I stopped off some palce to get a package of cookies that would last me 4-5 days.

What did I end up going home with? A pound of ham-and-cheese calzone. I didn't eat it all in one sitting, but still! I could *hear* myself getting fatter eating that thing! What was I thinking, especially at that time of night? :P

Didn't stop me from finishing it for lunch, though. Yum.

The reason you're feeling hungry is because you've barely eaten anything. That shepherd's pie bowl with crackers and dip = a smallish meal. Salad, bowl of icecream and 2 apples = about 3 snacks.

You're down 2 main meals, but up one 250g bag of chips from where you probably should be. That 250g bag of chips = the kilojoule content of 2 small meals, but is way down on protein and general fillingness.

Well, I had a proper breakfast today and so I'm feeling pretty good. :) I get full on very little compared to other people, I don't know WHAT is up with my metabolism.

I don't usually eat chips, though. That was a rare treat. Every six months kinda deal.

I'll try to eat proper meals and see if that helps. *hugs* Thank you!

There's nothing *wrong* with eating chips as such, it's just that they won't fill you like an equivalent kilojoule amount of, say, ham and cheese sandwich.

You need to eat at regular times and have healthy well balanced meals and a few snacks in between. What you eat? Sweet f all my dear. It may seem like a lot but it's not really filling food. You need more veges in thar!

Mum doesn't BUY veges. She buys these frozen packets that she boils till they're mush. That's how they eat veges in Scotland but I hate veges like that. I like them in curries, in stir fry, things like that. *sigh*

Your list, minus the chips and possibly minus the ice-cream, sounds like a fairly normal lunch to me! Man, how do you live on that? Where are the meat, vegies and (non-sweet) dairy? Anyway, you feel hungry because there's like two grams of protein in the entire list, and you need 50 g or so a day. Throw in 2-3 eggs (or egg whites, if you're watching cholesterol intake) and you'll feel heaps better.

Well, that was a Friday. Mum doesn't really cook on a Friday. So I have to take care of myself and this particular Friday I was running around and was too stuffed to cook. There was meat in the shepherd's pie. A big bunch of mince. I usually get a fair bit of protein a day, it was just an odd day.

It might just come down to your body craving certain things. And speaking of which, chocolate should be its own food group. ;)
