Okay. So I went to the neurologist today. Told me to get off the Inderol (just like you said, Karen!). Happily not taking those anymore. Not taking any opiates again either. Here's where things get shitty. The doctor said that I have to stop taking painkillers. Cut them right out. I kinda squirmed and said, "But... I have endometriosis. I need them."

So, I can take too many pills, fuck up my liver and survive (just) with annoying headaches.

Or I can stop taking pills and be bent over in the middle all the fucking time. He reckons the endep will help with the pain. I'm lary of that claim. I just don't know what to do, I'm so stressed out. It's like, no matter what I do, I'm going to be in some sort of pain. I'm really getting quite sick and tired of it.

Have you considered medical marijuana? I'm quite serious. I've known two people so far who have used it for pain management and they did not take enough to get high. Didn't smoke it either, made brownies or made flower infusions. =)

I feel for you. I really do. I wish there was an easy answer but if I had one, I would have done it years ago! The only thing that helped me was pregnancy but that just brought about a whole different kind of pain and headache. :)

Is hysterectomy an option for you? I know it's a pretty radical step, and they don't always work 100%, and also that, being elective surgery, it'd be expensive. But...yeah. Being constantly on pain medication is not good for your body, but being in constant pain isn't good for your body - or your mind! - either, and it seems to be time to start looking for alternative treatments.

Are you on some kind of birth control to try and relieve the hormonal symptoms?

Hysterectomy is not an option. I want kids, very very badly. If I couldn't have kids I'd probably have to go into some kind of therapy or something cause I'd go out of my mind.

I'm not on birth control yet but I'm going to talk to my doctor about it.

my mum has been in inderol for billions of yrs, when i was younger they wanted me on something for my migraines... thankfully they went away tho I do get pain behind my eye randomly (lovely family history of annureisms - however u spell that!!).

Just had a whole load of bloodwork done and was *almost* put on endep by a regular doc, my sis is on it but comming off coz not working/side effects... went to a brilliant doc http://www.desana.com.au/ (Dr Ismail)
in Wembley, he is a gp but also into alternative stuff - so Im on some natural stuff thats working - he actually freaked me out a bit coz he 'sensed' some of the shit thats wrong with me without me saying a word.... I felt so comfy with him and now have 2 wicked docs....

Is it legal to take that in Oz? They still have declared it illegal - everywhere - in the U.S. Nevermind the fact you can get opiates and drugs 4X stronger in medical form than you can get on the street and it's legal because the big drug companies have strong lobbies in Washington.
