Date: 2002-08-31 10:26 pm (UTC)I like it that you leave messages in my journal. I feel special! :) And I think it is just Rickman. Because the guy in the book isn't that amazing :T Fun to write though :)
Nancy.

I just haven't been reading or re-reading the HP books seeking more indepth info on Snape. He's just such a viper on straight reading -- the "obvious villain" in each book -- that I haven't been trying to find his good points. But yeah, if the onscreen version floated some boats I can see Snape apologists burning the midnight oil. (Heck, I used to run across Gul Dukat apologists in DS9 fandom on occasion. Now *those* were freaky...)
Hobbits, Mead, and Snape with Butterbeer.
Date: 2002-09-01 10:22 pm (UTC)Oh me too, sister! RUFF! Gimme that Pippin. RUFF! Or Frodo. Grrr.
I made a jump that I didn't need o make. I get the joke on a reread.
I thought it was a cute joke :)

Especially if you have an ego like mine :)

Very true. I mean, he's there on back-up for Dumbledore by the end, but other than being the guy that's "Not the bad guy this time, Potter", he's not all that interesting to me. He's fun to write, I'll give that, but hey - who doesn't love writing a bastard? (Thus Logan's appeal ^_^) Of course, my Snape loving girls are going to KILL me for these sentiments, but I guess honesty is the best policy. I have far more fun writing Hermione, really. She's awesome!

Rickman has an accent and a voice that are pure joy to watch and listen to. I must say, I really enjoy his performances, I really really do. It's such a pleasure and a joy to sit down and watch an actor that you *know* is going to do a good job.

BAHAHahaha, - Gul apologists! *snickers* That's hilarious! *giggles* The only time I really remember an ep with him was when he sat on that stupid spike on the planet and he couldn't get the healing thingo to work to fix his butt. That was so funny, I was in tears :) I love slapstick.

I thought it was a cute joke :)
Yeah, it worked. I just read through it too fast.
Especially if you have an ego like mine :)
Mostly I just like to know what I'm writing up has been read by more people than just myself. If I meant it for my eyes only I wouldn't have put it online...

Excellent casting all round on that movie. Rickman was perfect for the role -- including the eventual growth of Snape sympathy in later books/movies.

Considering that some of the worst offenders were Kira/Dukat fans, it was actually quite scary. Abuse as a turn-on...
